Relationships First
A house is not a product. It reflects how a specific family actually lives. We spend the time up front to understand that, because every decision downstream depends on it.

Home / About
A family builder who has been putting his own name on the work since 1983.
Meet The Builder
Jot grew up in construction. His father was a contractor and custom home builder, and the trade passed down the way it usually does — on a jobsite, early, with a tape measure in hand.
He started building under his own name in 1983 in rural west Texas. In the four decades since, he has owned and operated building companies across Texas, Tennessee and Colorado, and has run everything from ground-up custom homes to full restorations of houses older than he is.
JT Builders is the current chapter, working Colorado’s Front Range. It is deliberately small. Jot prices the work, Jot walks the site, and Jot is who you call when something needs an answer — which is the entire point.
How We Work
A house is not a product. It reflects how a specific family actually lives. We spend the time up front to understand that, because every decision downstream depends on it.
Pure craftsmanship and detail goes into every project, no matter how small. The parts you never see are built to the same standard as the parts you do.
Real numbers early, change orders in writing, and a builder who tells you when an idea will not work. Your satisfaction is a direct reflection of the finished product.
The Difference
We take a limited number of projects each year. That is not a marketing line — it is the reason we can promise the owner is on your site rather than managing a dozen crews from a truck.

Tell us about the lot, the house, or the idea. No pressure and no obligation.
